Accessible counselling in Greenwich

Low-cost counselling service

We believe that access to psychological support should not be limited to people who can afford standard private therapy fees, and we strive to make counselling and psychotherapy affordable to our community.

For this reason, Greenwich Counselling Center offers a number of low-cost counselling places for people who would benefit from therapy but may not be able to afford the full cost of private counselling.

Our low-cost service aims to make professional therapeutic support more accessible while maintaining the same commitment to confidentiality, respect and quality of care.

What can low-cost counselling help with?

Low-cost counselling may be suitable if you are experiencing emotional or psychological difficulties but financial circumstances make standard private therapy fees difficult to manage.

You may be:

·       Working on a limited income

·       Studying or undertaking professional training

·       Experiencing a period of unemployment

·       Going through financial difficulties

·       Experiencing a significant change in your circumstances

·       Unable to access appropriate support through other services

We recognise that financial circumstances can change over time. If affordability is a concern, we encourage you to contact us to discuss your circumstances

Low-cost counselling offers the same opportunity to explore difficulties with a trained therapist in a confidential setting.

Professional standards

Low-cost does not mean low quality. The professionals participating in our low-cost services are all newly qualified therapists or trainees at the advanced level of psychotherapy training. We carefully select and screen our therapists and ensure they are committed to maintaining appropriate professional standards and providing therapy within the limits of their training, experience and competence.

Where a therapist is working towards professional accreditation or is in training, this will be explained transparently as part of the assessment process.

All our therapists receive regular in-house and external clinical supervision as part of their professional development and practice.

A collaborative approach

We understand that asking for help can feel difficult, particularly when you may already be dealing with financial or other pressures.

We aim to create a therapeutic environment in which you can speak openly without fear of judgement. Your therapist's role is to listen carefully; help you explore your experiences and work collaboratively with you towards the changes you would like to make.
